What this trial studies

This study compares the effectiveness and patient satisfaction of continuous glucose monitoring versus traditional self-blood glucose measurement in diabetic patients who have undergone pancreatectomy. Patients will be randomly assigned to one of the two monitoring methods after a glucose tolerance test conducted one week post-surgery. Over a three-month period, outcomes such as HbA1c levels, hypoglycemic events, and overall satisfaction will be evaluated to determine which method provides better management of blood glucose levels.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 19 years old with a history of diabetes who have undergone subtotal or total pancreatectomy.

Not a fit: Patients with prior experience using continuous glucose monitoring devices or those with serious systemic diseases may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved blood glucose management strategies for diabetic patients post-pancreatectomy.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with continuous glucose monitoring in diabetic management, suggesting this approach may be effective.
