What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effects of two different interventions—computerized cognitive stimulation and aerobic exercise—on patients diagnosed with schizophrenia. Participants will be assessed for improvements in cognitive function, physical capacity, depression levels, quality of life, and daily living activities. The study involves individuals aged 20 to 60 who are receiving services from community mental health centers. By comparing these two approaches, the research seeks to identify which method may be more beneficial for enhancing the overall well-being of schizophrenia patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 20-60 diagnosed with schizophrenia who are receiving treatment at community mental health centers.
Not a fit: Patients with other psychiatric diagnoses, chronic metabolic diseases, or those who are pregnant may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective non-pharmacological interventions to improve cognitive and physical health in patients with schizophrenia.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with cognitive stimulation and exercise in improving outcomes for mental health conditions, suggesting this approach may be beneficial.
