What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of aerobic exercise versus resistance training on exercise capacity, depression, and quality of life in patients diagnosed with hypothyroidism. It employs a randomized controlled trial design, with a sample size determined using the G power program. Participants will undergo a 6-month intervention, and their thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels will be evaluated before and after the exercise sessions to assess the impact of the interventions. Data analysis will be conducted using SPSS version 20.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are males and females aged 40 to 60 years who have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism for at least 2 years and can perform exercises.
Not a fit: Patients with serious comorbidities, uncontrolled hypertension, or those who are vitally unstable may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into the most effective exercise regimen for improving the overall well-being of patients with hypothyroidism.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with exercise interventions in hypothyroid patients, suggesting that this approach is promising.
