Comparing Action Observation Therapy and Motor Relearning Program for Stroke Recovery
Effect of Action Observation Therapy in Comparison to Motor Relearning Program on Balance and Mobility Among Subacute Stroke Patients
This study is testing whether watching movements (Action Observation Therapy) or practicing movements (Motor Relearning Program) helps people recovering from a stroke improve their balance and mobility better.

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of Action Observation Therapy (AOT) compared to a Motor Relearning Program (MRP) in improving balance and mobility in patients recovering from subacute stroke. It is a randomized controlled trial that aims to provide new insights into the benefits of these two therapeutic approaches. By analyzing the outcomes of both therapies, the study seeks to enhance evidence-based practices for stroke rehabilitation. The findings could contribute significantly to the understanding of optimal recovery strategies for stroke patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are ischemic stroke patients aged 45 and above who can stand independently for at least one minute.
Not a fit: Patients with other neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions affecting balance, or visual/auditory impairments may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved rehabilitation strategies that enhance balance and mobility in stroke patients.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown individual effectiveness of AOT and MRP, but this comparative approach is relatively novel.
