What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of combining eflornithine cream with intense pulsed light laser treatment versus using eflornithine cream alone for women suffering from hirsutism. Hirsutism is characterized by excessive hair growth in females, often due to hormonal imbalances. The trial aims to determine if the addition of laser treatment enhances the results of the topical cream. Participants will be women aged 18-45 diagnosed with hirsutism, and the study will take place at Khyber Teaching Hospital in Peshawar, KPK.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 18-45 with a diagnosis of hirsutism.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, have severe acne, or suffer from immunodeficiency may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a more effective treatment option for women dealing with excessive facial hair.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on individual treatments for hirsutism, this specific combination of eflornithine cream and laser treatment is novel and has not been extensively tested.
