What this trial studies
The KeySteps Phase Two Study is a five-year initiative aimed at evaluating the effectiveness and sustainability of a Community Child Health Model that provides various health promotion services and lifestyle modification programs in underprivileged neighborhoods of Hong Kong. The study will involve children living or studying in selected districts, where data on their health, psychosocial conditions, and family demographics will be collected. Participants will receive tailored health promotion services based on their individual needs, and their health outcomes will be monitored through existing healthcare systems. The study seeks to address the growing health disparities exacerbated by socio-economic challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are K1 students from kindergartens in the selected districts whose parents consent to their participation.
Not a fit: Children whose parents cannot understand Cantonese or read Chinese may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
