What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the combined effects of Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and the Kabat technique on improving quality of life and functional outcomes in patients with Bell's palsy. Bell's palsy is characterized by sudden facial paralysis due to damage to the facial nerve. The Kabat technique focuses on neurorehabilitation through specific movement patterns, while LLLT is a non-invasive treatment option. The study will include patients who present with unilateral facial paralysis within a specific time frame after onset.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-40 with unilateral facial paralysis who have experienced symptoms for 12 days to 3 weeks.

Not a fit: Patients with previous facial reconstruction surgery, traumatic brain injury, or other neurological deficits may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance recovery and quality of life for patients suffering from Bell's palsy.

How similar studies have performed: While few studies have explored the effectiveness of LLLT in Bell's palsy, the combination with the Kabat technique is relatively novel.
