What this trial studies

This study aims to gather a comprehensive set of normative data on gait patterns using the Gait Real-time Analysis Interactive Lab (GRAIL) at the University Hospital of Ghent. Healthy participants will walk on an instrumented treadmill at various speeds, while data on 3D kinematics, kinetics, and EMG will be collected. The study also includes dual-task scenarios to assess how cognitive and motor tasks affect gait. The resulting data will serve as a reference for identifying gait abnormalities in clinical populations.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy individuals without any neurological disorders or balance issues.

Not a fit: Patients with neurological disorders, balance problems, or those taking medications affecting gait will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable reference data to help clinicians identify and treat gait abnormalities in patients.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have successfully utilized similar approaches to gather normative data for gait analysis, making this a well-supported methodology.
