What this trial studies

This observational study aims to gather data on patients who experience acute deterioration, including sudden cardiac arrest, while being monitored by a rapid response team in a general ward. The study will prospectively track these patients to assess the effectiveness and response of the rapid response team. By analyzing the outcomes of these interventions, the study seeks to improve emergency care protocols within the hospital setting.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients admitted to the general ward at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital who are monitored by the in-hospital rapid response system.

Not a fit: Patients admitted to pediatric wards, emergency rooms, intensive care units, or operating rooms may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the effectiveness of rapid response teams, leading to better patient outcomes in emergency situations.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in improving patient outcomes through the implementation of rapid response teams, indicating that this approach is supported by existing evidence.
