What this trial studies

This observational study, conducted by the Gruppo Italiano Malattie EMatologiche dell'Adulto (GIMEMA), aims to gather clinical and biological data from patients newly diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (SLL), or Monoclonal B-Cell Lymphocytosis (MBL). It includes both retrospective data from cases diagnosed between January 2010 and August 2021, and prospective data from patients diagnosed between September 2021 and September 2025. Data will be collected through a dedicated electronic case report form accessible to participating centers.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who have been newly diagnosed with CLL, SLL, or MBL.

Not a fit: Patients who do not meet the diagnostic criteria for CLL, SLL, or MBL, or those diagnosed before January 2010 or after September 2025, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding and management of CLL, SLL, and MBL, leading to improved patient outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While this study follows established diagnostic criteria, similar observational studies have shown success in improving understanding and treatment of hematological conditions.
