Cold snare removal for 10–20 mm pedunculated colorectal polyps
Investigation of Cold Snare Polypectomy for Removing 10-20 mm 0-Ip Colorectal Polyp: One Feasibility and Safety Study
NA · National Taiwan University Hospital · NCT07114380

What this trial studies
This prospective, multicenter, single-arm study in Taiwan will enroll about 120 adults undergoing colonoscopy who are found to have 10–20 mm pedunculated (0-Ip) colorectal polyps. Eligible polyps will be removed using cold snare polypectomy by experienced endoscopists with standard pre- and post-procedure care. Investigators will record polyp features, resection completeness by endoscopy and pathology, and immediate and delayed complications such as bleeding or perforation. Primary outcomes are technical success (complete removal) and safety (adverse event rates), with analysis to identify predictors of CSP failure.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Adults aged 20 or older undergoing colonoscopy who are found to have a 10–20 mm pedunculated colorectal polyp deemed suitable for cold snare resection.
Not a fit: People with polyps smaller than 10 mm or larger than 20 mm, non-pedunculated lesions, or those with medical contraindications to colonoscopy or polypectomy are unlikely to benefit.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this could offer a safer, non‑thermal option for removing larger pedunculated polyps and lower risk of thermal-related complications.
How similar studies have performed: Cold snare polypectomy is well supported for polyps under 10 mm, but its use for 10–20 mm pedunculated lesions is relatively untested and evidence is limited.
