What this trial studies

This decentralized, remotely administered trial tests the Chilipad Dock Pro bed cooling system paired with a sleep tracker to see how personalized bed temperature affects sleep quality and well-being. Adult participants in the U.S. will use the device at home and complete baseline and follow-up measures including the PROMIS Sleep Disturbance Scale, a Well-being Survey, and the SF-36. Data are collected remotely to capture real-world sleep patterns and device performance across the study period. The study excludes people with thermal sensitivity, temperature-related sleep disorders, certain medical implants, pregnancy, or who are uncomfortable with the required technology.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are U.S. adults without temperature-sensitive medical conditions who can use the Chilipad device, tolerate its operation, and complete remote surveys.

Not a fit: People with thermal sensitivity, temperature-related sleep disorders, pacemakers or implants sensitive to electromagnetic fields, pregnant individuals, or those uncomfortable with technology may not receive benefit or are excluded.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the device could improve sleep quality and overall well-being for some users by optimizing bed temperature.

How similar studies have performed: Prior research shows temperature regulation can influence sleep and cooling can help some sleepers, but published evidence specifically on the Chilipad Dock Pro is limited.
