Not applicable Interventional Aydin Adnan Menderes University · NCT07072507

What this trial studies

This randomized controlled study enrolls nulliparous, Turkish-speaking women at 30–32 weeks with a singleton pregnancy and randomizes them to childbirth education with their spouse, childbirth education alone, or usual care. The intervention is a series of childbirth preparation classes delivered in person at the study site. Primary outcomes include spouse support scores, birth satisfaction scores, and birth memory/recall measured after delivery, and birth method preferences will be recorded. Participants who miss more than one session or provide incomplete forms are excluded.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are nulliparous women with a singleton pregnancy at 30–32 weeks who can read and write Turkish and can attend in-person classes.

Not a fit: Women who are multiparous, have multiple pregnancies, significant communication or psychological problems, are unable to attend sessions, divorced or widowed, or who are overweight/obese are unlikely to benefit from this protocol.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the classes could increase perceived partner support, improve birth memory and recall, and raise overall birth satisfaction for first-time mothers.

How similar studies have performed: Previous antenatal education studies have shown mixed but sometimes positive effects on partner support and birth satisfaction, so this approach is not entirely novel but results have varied.
