What this trial studies
This study explores the feasibility and effectiveness of using a chatbot to provide smoking cessation support to community smokers. Participants will receive various interventions, including advice based on the 5A's/5R's model, health warning leaflets, self-help booklets, and both counselor-led and chatbot-led group support. The aim is to assess how well these methods can help individuals quit smoking and the overall implementation of the program in a campus setting.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and above who smoke daily and reside in Zhuhai.
Not a fit: Patients with communication barriers or those currently involved in other smoking cessation programs may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide an innovative and accessible way for smokers to receive support in quitting.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of chatbots for smoking cessation is a relatively novel approach, similar interventions have shown promise in other health-related areas.
