What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of calisthenics exercises combined with pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy on liver function in patients who have sustained burn injuries. Participants will engage in a 12-week program of medium-intensity calisthenics exercises, while their liver enzyme levels will be monitored through serum blood draws before and after the intervention. The goal is to assess whether these therapies can improve liver function, which is often compromised following significant burn trauma.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 20-45 with burns covering 30% to 50% of their body surface area.
Not a fit: Patients with cardiac diseases, history of liver diseases, or those with specific types of burns or amputations may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance liver recovery and overall health in burn patients.
How similar studies have performed: While PEMF therapy has shown promise in treating various conditions, this specific combination with calisthenics for liver function post-burn is relatively novel.
