What this trial studies
Building Blocks for Child and Family Well-being (BBFW) is a brief virtual program run through the York University Psychology Clinic that combines experiential learning, individually tailored strategies, and peer support to target parenting skills, family cohesion, and stress management. Caregivers aged 18 and older with children 18 and under who reside in Ontario and have access to a digital device are eligible to participate. The project is a program evaluation examining feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effectiveness by collecting participant feedback and outcome measures before and after the intervention. Findings will guide whether BBFW can be refined or expanded within clinic services.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are caregivers aged 18 or older who live in Ontario, have at least one child 18 or younger, can join virtual sessions using a digital device, and enroll in the BBFW program at York University's Psychology Clinic.
Not a fit: Caregivers who do not consent to research participation, live outside Ontario, lack access to a suitable digital device, or whose children are older than 18 are unlikely to benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, BBFW could give caregivers practical skills to strengthen family relationships and reduce stress for both children and parents.
How similar studies have performed: Related family-systems and parenting interventions have shown benefits for parenting skills and family functioning, but brief virtual programs that integrate these elements have more limited published evidence.
