What this trial studies
This observational project will recruit federation-licensed athletes with disabilities in Spain and collect standardized anthropometric measurements, body composition data, and training histories. Participants will complete dietary and supplement intake questionnaires and report exercise practices to characterize nutritional and activity patterns. The study will compare measures across types of disabilities and functional classifications to identify trends. Results will be used to create reference tables and consumption patterns to support more personalized nutrition and training strategies.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are Spanish federation-licensed athletes with any disability who have at least two years' experience in their sport, train at least three days per week, and have maintained continuous training for the past month.
Not a fit: Individuals who do not regularly train, miss on-site evaluations, or report less than 80% attendance to training sessions are unlikely to gain benefit from this project's findings.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the results could help tailor nutrition and training plans to improve health and performance for athletes with disabilities.
How similar studies have performed: While similar anthropometric and dietary approaches have produced useful reference data in able-bodied athletes, standardized evidence in athletes with disabilities remains limited, so this work is relatively novel.
