What this trial studies

This study evaluates a novel technique for laparoscopic enucleation of pancreatic tumors by blocking the abdominal trunk and superior mesenteric artery to minimize intraoperative bleeding. The approach aims to preserve healthy pancreatic tissue and reduce the risk of tumor recurrence. Conducted at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, the study will include patients with benign or borderline pancreatic tumors located in the head, neck, or uncinate process of the pancreas. Data on clinical, biochemical, and radiological characteristics will be collected and analyzed throughout the study period from March 2023 to May 2026.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients with benign or borderline pancreatic tumors located in the head, neck, or uncinate process of the pancreas.

Not a fit: Patients with highly malignant tumors or those located in the body and tail of the pancreas will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this method could lead to safer surgical procedures with less blood loss and better preservation of pancreatic function.

How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, similar studies have shown promise in reducing surgical complications associated with pancreatic surgeries.
