What this trial studies
This project establishes a biobank specifically for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) to collect, preserve, and analyze biological samples alongside comprehensive clinical data. The aim is to enhance understanding and research capabilities in the field of IBD by creating a well-organized repository of biological materials. Adult patients with IBD who consent to the collection and use of their biological samples will be recruited for this initiative.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with inflammatory bowel diseases.
Not a fit: Patients without a diagnosis of inflammatory bowel diseases will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this biobank could significantly advance research and treatment options for patients with inflammatory bowel diseases.
How similar studies have performed: Other biobanks focused on chronic diseases have shown success in advancing research, indicating potential for this approach in IBD.
