What this trial studies
This decentralized 60-day study has participants use either a standard whey protein or Equip's beef-based protein for the first 30 days, then provides Equip protein to all participants for the second 30 days to compare tolerability. Participants report daily or weekly symptoms such as bloating, digestive comfort, energy, and overall well-being using structured surveys. The design emphasizes real-world use and self-reported outcomes collected remotely rather than in-clinic measurements. Results aim to show whether switching protein sources changes gut symptoms in typical adult users.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Adults in the U.S. who experience digestion or bloating issues, can read English, are willing to follow protocol and purchase study materials, and do not have allergies to beef, whey, or dairy, serious digestive disorders, chronic kidney disease, gout, are not pregnant or nursing, and are not vegan.
Not a fit: People who are excluded—those with beef/whey/dairy allergies, serious digestive disorders, chronic kidney disease, gout, pregnant or nursing individuals, or those on a vegan diet—are not eligible and therefore will not receive benefit from participation.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If the beef-based protein proves gentler, participants and others might find a protein powder that reduces bloating and gut discomfort.
How similar studies have performed: Direct randomized comparisons of beef-based versus whey protein for digestive tolerability are limited, so this approach is relatively novel with mostly anecdotal or small-scale evidence to date.
