What this trial studies
Researchers will use questionnaires to compare awareness, knowledge, and help-seeking behaviors among gynecological patients and members of the general public aged 13–60 in Hong Kong. The survey will collect demographic, cultural, and health-literacy information and ask about experiences with conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, miscarriage, and infertility. The study will pay attention to the role of cultural factors and use of Traditional Chinese Medicine as possible influences on care-seeking. Results are intended to identify disparities and barriers that could inform targeted education or service changes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are people aged 13–60 who live in Hong Kong and can provide informed consent or assent, including women with gynecological conditions and members of the general public.
Not a fit: People outside the 13–60 age range, those unable to provide consent/assent, or those not living in Hong Kong are unlikely to benefit from or be eligible for this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the study could identify specific knowledge gaps and barriers so that healthcare providers and public health programs can design targeted interventions to improve women’s reproductive health outcomes in Hong Kong.
How similar studies have performed: Similar questionnaire-based studies internationally have identified knowledge gaps and barriers and informed educational efforts, but comprehensive Hong Kong-specific data are limited.
