What this trial studies

This observational study aims to create a toolkit for assessing home food environments, focusing on foods that influence diet-related health. The toolkit will include both paper and electronic tools that are designed to be user-friendly for individuals with varying literacy levels in English and Spanish. By evaluating the food available at home, the study seeks to understand how it affects dietary habits and obesity. Participants will be primary grocery shoppers or meal preparers aged 18 and older.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18 and older who are the primary grocery shoppers or meal preparers in their households and speak either English or Spanish.

Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 18, do not primarily purchase groceries, or lack the capacity to consent will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could empower individuals to make healthier food choices at home, potentially reducing obesity rates.

How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative in its focus on home food environments, similar studies have shown promise in assessing dietary impacts on health.
