What this trial studies

This study evaluates the validity and reliability of a newly developed questionnaire designed to assess early knee osteoarthritis (OA) symptoms. The questionnaire aims to monitor the clinical progression of patients with early OA, which is crucial for timely intervention and management. By focusing on early symptoms, the study seeks to improve patient outcomes and quality of life through better follow-up and treatment strategies. Participants will include individuals diagnosed with early symptomatic knee OA and a control group without knee pain, both over the age of 40 and able to read and write Turkish.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals over 40 years old who meet the diagnostic criteria for early symptomatic knee osteoarthritis.

Not a fit: Patients under 40 years old or those with active inflammatory arthritis or widespread pain may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved early detection and management of knee osteoarthritis, enhancing patient quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: While this specific approach is novel, similar studies assessing early OA have shown promise in improving patient management and outcomes.
