What this trial studies
This study evaluates the reliability of outcomes from a speed and cognitive light training system known as the FITLIGHT System. It aims to understand how acute cognitive training influences athletic performance, particularly in relation to reaction time and neurocognitive performance. Participants will engage in cognitive training sessions followed by non-stimulating rest to measure the effects on their athletic capabilities. The study focuses on healthy individuals who meet specific eligibility criteria.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy individuals with a BMI under 30 who are physically active and meet the study's inclusion criteria.
Not a fit: Patients with recent musculoskeletal injuries, cognitive impairments, or other specified exclusions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance athletic training methods by integrating cognitive training to improve performance outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of using the FITLIGHT System is novel, similar cognitive training interventions have shown promise in enhancing athletic performance in other studies.
