What this trial studies
This observational study examines the predictive value of the DD4 questionnaire in patients who have been hospitalized for a depressive episode. It involves a review of medical records and follow-up assessments conducted three months post-discharge to evaluate the likelihood of depressive relapse. The study focuses on patients who are considered in remission at the time of follow-up, utilizing data collected during their hospitalization and subsequent evaluations.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who have been hospitalized for a depressive episode and are in remission at the time of follow-up.
Not a fit: Patients with bipolar depression, psychotic disorders, or those unable to complete a self-assessment questionnaire may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help identify patients at risk of depressive relapse, allowing for timely interventions.
How similar studies have performed: While similar observational studies have been conducted, the specific use of the DD4 questionnaire in this context is relatively novel.
