What this trial studies

This observational study aims to evaluate the changes in quality of life (QoL) among elderly patients diagnosed with low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma during their clinical management. It will involve a prospective, multicenter approach, enrolling 150 patients aged 70 and older who have a confirmed diagnosis of indolent B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Participants will undergo a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and will have their QoL assessed at baseline, after treatment, and one year post-therapy. The study seeks to identify key factors influencing QoL throughout the treatment process.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are elderly patients aged 70 years and older with a histologically confirmed diagnosis of indolent B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma who are candidates for treatment.

Not a fit: Patients who have previously received treatment for lymphoma or those under 70 years of age may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into improving the quality of life for elderly patients undergoing treatment for low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

How similar studies have performed: While this study focuses on a specific patient demographic, similar studies assessing quality of life in cancer patients have shown promising results, indicating that understanding QoL can lead to improved patient care.
