What this trial studies

This observational study aims to evaluate the impact of household food insecurity on the utilization of maternal healthcare services and infant feeding practices among slum-dwelling women in Pune, India. It will collect data through questionnaires regarding socio-demographic characteristics, healthcare service usage, food insecurity experiences, and dietary intake. Additionally, anthropometric measurements will be taken, and focus group discussions will be conducted to gather insights into the women's perceptions. Inclusion Criteria: Participant

1. is willing and able to give informed consent
2. has been residing in a slum for a minimum of 3 years
3. is aged between 18 to 49 years
4. has a child or children less than 2 years of age

Exclusion Criteria:

1. She is unwilling to consent to participate in the study
2. The age of her child or children is greater than 2 years.
3. The mother or child have any congenital / chronic conditions
