Assessing interleukin 23 in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and lung disease
Role of Interleukin 23 in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Related Interstial Lung Disease

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the levels of interleukin 23 in the serum of patients suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) related interstitial lung disease. It involves a thorough clinical and rheumatological examination, along with the collection of SLEDAI scores and various laboratory tests, including erythrocyte sedimentation rate and complete blood count. The aim is to understand the role of interleukin 23 in this specific patient population and its potential implications for treatment.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus, particularly those with interstitial lung disease.
Not a fit: Patients with chest conditions other than interstitial lung disease or those currently receiving biological blocking antibodies or immunosuppressive drugs may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and management of systemic lupus erythematosus related lung disease.
How similar studies have performed: There is limited information on similar studies, making this approach relatively novel in the context of systemic lupus erythematosus and interstitial lung disease.
