Assessing immune inflammation in Behçet's disease

Pan-immune-inflammation Value (PIN) in Behçet's Disease and Its Correlation With Disease Activity

Observational Assiut University · NCT06729112

What this trial studies

This study evaluates the pan-immune-inflammation value (PIN) in patients with Behçet's disease (BD) compared to healthy controls. It aims to correlate PIN with demographic and clinical characteristics of BD patients, as well as with disease activity. The study focuses on the role of various blood cell counts and ratios in understanding systemic inflammation and its impact on the disease. By analyzing these parameters, the research seeks to enhance the understanding of BD and its inflammatory processes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adult patients diagnosed with Behçet's disease according to established criteria.

Not a fit: Patients with other autoimmune diseases, malignancies, infections, or those who are pregnant or lactating may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a new biomarker for assessing disease activity in Behçet's disease, leading to better management and treatment strategies.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that similar immune-inflammatory biomarkers can effectively predict disease activity in rheumatologic disorders, suggesting potential success for this approach.
