What this trial studies
This study aims to systematically determine the health care needs of elderly individuals using the Omaha Classification System, which is a recognized method in home care. It will also investigate the effectiveness of nursing interventions tailored to these needs, focusing on promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors and improving quality of life. By implementing a structured approach to monitoring and addressing the health care needs of the elderly, the study seeks to enhance the quality of nursing care provided in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The findings could lead to the establishment of a more effective system for elderly care.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are elderly individuals aged 65 and older who are capable of self-care.
Not a fit: Patients with communication barriers or mental handicaps may not benefit from this study due to the nature of the interventions.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly improve the quality of life and health outcomes for elderly individuals through targeted nursing interventions.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing the Omaha Classification System have shown promise in improving elderly care, indicating that this approach is both tested and potentially effective.
