What this trial studies

This study explores the feasibility and acceptability of aquatic therapy for children aged 3-9 with neuromotor deficits, such as cerebral palsy. The intervention consists of twenty sessions held in a warm water therapy pool, occurring twice a week over ten weeks. Each session includes land-based self-care training and water-based exercises aimed at improving swim safety skills, upper extremity function, and self-care participation. The study will assess the effectiveness of these individualized activities through pre- and post-evaluation sessions.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are children aged 3-9 with a diagnosis of neuromotor conditions and impairments in upper extremity function.

Not a fit: Patients with compromised airways or uncontrolled seizures may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this therapy could enhance the functional abilities and quality of life for children with neuromotor deficits.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with aquatic therapy for similar conditions, suggesting potential for success in this approach.
