Analyzing protein differences in papillary thyroid carcinoma
Differences Protein Expression in Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients aged 18-65 who have been newly diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma, specifically examining those with and without cervical lymph node metastasis. The study aims to identify differences in protein expression between these two groups by collecting fresh frozen thyroid tissue samples and clinical data from medical records. The findings could enhance understanding of the disease and potentially guide treatment decisions for patients based on their metastatic status.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-65 with newly diagnosed papillary thyroid carcinoma who are undergoing thyroidectomy.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of prior cancer, current substance abuse, or those undergoing hormone therapy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic and treatment strategies for patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma.
How similar studies have performed: While studies on proteomics in cancer are common, this specific focus on papillary thyroid carcinoma and cervical lymph node metastasis is relatively novel.
