What this trial studies

This research evaluates patient satisfaction and pain levels associated with cryotherapy machines based on the direction of the tubing placement. Patients undergoing arthroscopic ACL or MPFL reconstruction will be divided into two groups: one with tubing directed towards the head and the other towards the feet. The study aims to gather insights on which configuration patients prefer and how it affects their overall experience during recovery. By understanding these preferences, the study seeks to enhance patient comfort and satisfaction with cryotherapy treatments.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients aged 10-18 scheduled for ACL or MPFL reconstruction who have access to a cryotherapy unit.

Not a fit: Patients undergoing different types of knee surgeries or those without access to a cryotherapy unit may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved patient satisfaction and comfort during recovery from knee surgeries.

How similar studies have performed: While specific studies on tubing placement preferences in cryotherapy are limited, research on patient comfort and satisfaction in similar therapeutic settings has shown positive outcomes.
