Analyzing MRI techniques for degenerative spine disease
MRI Analysis and Degenerative Spine
Universidade Nova de Lisboa · NCT06163300

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on the advanced analysis of MRI techniques to assess the microstructural integrity of compressed nerve roots in patients with degenerative spinal disease. It aims to identify image biomarkers affected by the disease and to understand how these biomarkers evolve with disease progression and treatment. The study will involve patients diagnosed with spinal disease, utilizing MRI to gather data on their condition over time.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 50 to 85 years with a diagnosis of spinal disease lasting more than three months.
Not a fit: Patients who have undergone previous spine surgery or have significant neurological or orthopedic conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic techniques and treatment strategies for patients with degenerative spinal disease.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, similar studies using advanced MRI techniques have shown promise in other areas of spinal research.
