What this trial studies

This observational study aims to analyze data from a tertiary referral hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo to assess the prevalence of comorbid conditions in patients diagnosed with hypertensive heart disease. The study will collect individual patient data, including metrics such as BMI, dyslipidemia, stroke history, diabetes status, and serum levels of creatinine, HDL, LDL, and urea. The findings will provide insights into the management and outcomes of these patients, contributing to a better understanding of hypertensive heart disease in this population.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with hypertensive heart disease.

Not a fit: Patients who are under 18 years old or do not have a diagnosis of hypertensive heart disease will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the management and treatment strategies for patients with hypertensive heart disease by identifying common comorbidities.

How similar studies have performed: While this study focuses on a specific population in the Democratic Republic of Congo, similar observational studies in other regions have shown success in identifying comorbidities associated with hypertensive heart disease.
