What this trial studies
This observational study aims to analyze gait parameters in women aged 40-60 with and without stress urinary incontinence. Using advanced motion analysis software, the study will measure various aspects of gait, including cadence, stride length, and swing duration. The findings are expected to enhance understanding of how stress urinary incontinence impacts mobility, potentially leading to targeted rehabilitation strategies. Participants will be women with a BMI of 30 or higher and diagnosed with mild stress urinary incontinence, while those with other significant medical conditions will be excluded.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 40-60 with a BMI of 30 or higher who have mild stress urinary incontinence.
Not a fit: Patients with significant neurological or musculoskeletal disorders, severe cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, or those who are pregnant will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved rehabilitation strategies for women suffering from stress urinary incontinence, enhancing their mobility and quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While this study builds on existing knowledge of stress urinary incontinence and gait, it employs a specific analytical approach that may provide novel insights into the condition.
