What this trial studies

This observational study aims to analyze individuals experiencing symptoms related to adverse reactions to foodstuffs. Volunteers over 18 years old, who suspect they have a food allergy or intolerance, will provide a small blood sample for analysis. The study focuses on measuring the levels of food-specific immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4) and immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies to better understand their role in food-related symptoms. The findings could help clarify the relationship between these antibodies and food allergies.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 who exhibit symptoms related to adverse reactions to foodstuffs.

Not a fit: Patients currently undergoing antibiotic treatment may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of food allergies and lead to better diagnostic methods for patients.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on food allergies, this specific approach focusing on IgG4 and IgE levels in a population with adverse reactions is relatively novel.
