Analyzing embryo outcomes based on ovarian follicle sizes and microRNA detection

Evaluation of the Outcomes of the Embryos Obtained From Different Follicle Sizes, and the miRNA Detection in the Spent Media of Their Blastocyst Culture

Observational Acibadem University · NCT05947526

This study is testing if the size of ovarian follicles can help predict which embryos will develop into the healthiest blastocysts and how certain microRNAs in the culture media relate to embryo quality.

What this trial studies

This observational study aims to analyze the outcomes of embryos derived from ovarian follicles of varying sizes. The goal is to predict which follicle size is most likely to yield the best quality blastocyst. Following the retrieval of blastocysts from these follicles, the study will investigate the expression of microRNA in the spent media of the blastocyst cultures, examining the correlation between embryo quality and miRNA expression levels.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are female patients aged 20-38 who are preparing for IVF treatment and have a specific number of follicles of adequate size.

Not a fit: Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCO), endometriosis, or severe male factor infertility may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of embryo quality prediction, potentially improving IVF outcomes for patients.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored aspects of embryo quality and microRNA, this specific approach focusing on follicle size and miRNA detection is relatively novel.
