Analyzing DNA from IVF media drops
DNA Analysis of Discarded Media Drops From the Clinical IVF Cycles

What this trial studies
This research investigates the presence of DNA in discarded media from clinical IVF cycles to find a non-invasive method for obtaining markers of embryo chromosome numeration. By analyzing the media that is typically thrown away, the study aims to utilize genomic technologies for chromosome counting of embryos. This could provide valuable insights into embryo viability and genetic health without additional invasive procedures.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are women undergoing an In Vitro Fertilization cycle at the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine who are also having Comprehensive Chromosomal Screening of embryos.
Not a fit: Patients not undergoing IVF or those not participating in Comprehensive Chromosomal Screening may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance embryo selection processes in IVF, potentially leading to higher success rates in achieving pregnancy.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of analyzing discarded media is innovative, similar studies have not been widely reported, making this a novel investigation.
