What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the cognitive function and neuropsychiatric disorders in patients suffering from Long COVID-19 Syndrome by utilizing quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG). The study will assess brain wave activity and its correlation with cognitive decline through standardized instruments like the MOCA questionnaire and Self Rating Questionnaire (SRQ). Conducted over a 12-week period, it aims to identify abnormalities in brain activity that may contribute to cognitive impairments in this population. The study will include both Long COVID patients and a control group of recovered individuals.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are post-COVID-19 patients aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with Long COVID-19 Syndrome.
Not a fit: Patients with pre-existing neuropsychiatric disorders prior to COVID-19 infection may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of cognitive impairments in Long COVID patients and inform targeted interventions.
How similar studies have performed: While studies on Long COVID are emerging, the specific use of qEEG in this context is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
