Analyzing cancer-related substances in lung cancer patients with brain metastasis
Comprehensive Profiling of Promising Biomarkers in Exosomes From Non-small Cell Lung Cancer With Central Nervous System Metastasis
This study is testing whether certain substances found in the blood and spinal fluid of lung cancer patients with brain metastasis can help predict how the cancer will behave and how well treatments might work.

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on non-small cell lung cancer patients who have developed central nervous system metastasis. It involves collecting cerebrospinal fluid, blood samples, and tumor tissue from patients undergoing surgical procedures. The study aims to analyze the exosomes present in these samples and correlate them with clinical data to determine if these cancer cell-related substances can serve as predictive indicators for lung cancer metastasis and treatment efficacy.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include non-small cell lung cancer patients diagnosed with brain or meningeal metastases who are scheduled for surgical intervention.
Not a fit: Patients without brain or meningeal metastases or those whose physical condition prevents surgical intervention may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide new bioindicators for predicting lung cancer metastasis and treatment response, potentially improving patient management.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored cancer biomarkers, this specific approach focusing on exosomes in cerebrospinal fluid and tumor tissue is relatively novel.
Eligibility criteria
