What this trial studies
This observational study evaluates the working positions and musculoskeletal symptoms experienced by first and second year students in the Master's program in Advanced Endodontics at the European University of Madrid. Using a standardized questionnaire and video recordings of clinical procedures, the study aims to identify common pain syndromes related to poor posture and movement imbalances during endodontic treatments. A total of 10 students will be monitored over two years as they treat patients, providing insights into the ergonomic challenges faced in dental practice.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are first and second year students enrolled in the Master's Degree in Endodontics at the European University of Madrid.
Not a fit: Patients with pre-existing musculoskeletal disorders or those who have suffered trauma affecting the musculoskeletal system will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved ergonomic practices and reduced musculoskeletal disorders among dental professionals.
How similar studies have performed: While there is existing literature on musculoskeletal disorders in dental professionals, this specific observational approach focusing on endodontic residents is relatively novel.
