What this trial studies

This study involves a randomized controlled trial of an 8-session cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) group intervention aimed at improving coping strategies among Black sexual minority men facing discrimination and medical mistrust. Developed in collaboration with community stakeholders, the intervention provides a supportive environment for participants to discuss barriers to healthcare and enhance their engagement with health services. Participants will be followed for 12 months, with their health care engagement and receipt of preventive care assessed through surveys and medical records. A total of 370 participants will be recruited and randomly assigned to either the intervention or a no-treatment control group.
