What this trial studies
This study develops and tests a mobile application designed to create personalized meal plans aimed at improving diet quality and supporting weight loss. Participants will have the ability to customize their meal plans by substituting recipes with nutritionally equivalent options that they prefer, which may enhance adherence to dietary recommendations. The app will focus on affordability, meeting recommended dietary allowances, and sustainability to minimize the food-related carbon footprint. The effectiveness of the app will be evaluated by comparing outcomes between users of the FoodRx app and a control group without access to it.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals over 18 years old with a BMI over 27 who are already enrolled in the FoodRx study and are motivated to lose weight.
