What this trial studies
This study evaluates an innovative clinical decision support application that utilizes artificial intelligence to enhance preoperative assessments for patients classified as ASA Class III and IV. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the AI-supported group, which will use the new application, or a control group that follows the standard preoperative assessment procedures. The goal is to determine if the AI-augmented approach improves risk evaluation and clinical outcomes compared to traditional methods.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients classified as ASA Class III or IV who are scheduled for non-cardiac surgery.
Not a fit: Patients who do not fall into the ASA Class III or IV categories may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to improved safety and outcomes for high-risk surgical patients.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using AI for clinical decision support, indicating potential for success in this novel approach.
