What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients who have undergone breast conserving surgery combined with chest wall perforator flaps for early-stage invasive breast cancer or ductal carcinoma in situ. It aims to evaluate the oncological and aesthetic outcomes of oncoplastic breast conserving surgery techniques over the past decade. The study will analyze cases treated between 2015 and 2025, specifically looking at patients with a follow-up of at least one year. By examining these advanced surgical techniques, the study seeks to improve both the effectiveness of cancer treatment and the quality of life for survivors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include women aged 18 and older who have undergone specific breast conserving surgeries with chest wall perforator flaps for early-stage breast cancer.
Not a fit: Patients who have undergone traditional breast conserving surgery, mastectomy, or have unresectable breast cancer will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved surgical outcomes and aesthetic results for breast cancer patients.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise in using oncoplastic techniques for breast surgery, indicating potential success for this approach.
