What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates the effectiveness of incorporating Pilates exercises into the rehabilitation program for male patients suffering from sports hernias. Participants, aged 18 to 45, who have had sports hernias for two to ten weeks, will engage in a structured Pilates program alongside low-level laser therapy and low-intensity ultrasound. The study aims to assess improvements in recovery and physical function compared to standard rehabilitation methods. Exclusion criteria ensure that only suitable candidates participate, focusing on those without preexisting conditions that could hinder their ability to perform Pilates exercises.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are male patients aged 18 to 45 with a recent diagnosis of sports hernia lasting between two to ten weeks.
Not a fit: Patients with preexisting injuries or conditions that could affect their participation in Pilates exercises will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance recovery outcomes for patients with sports hernias, leading to improved physical function and reduced pain.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on the specific combination of Pilates and sports hernia rehabilitation, similar studies have shown positive outcomes with Pilates in other rehabilitation contexts.
