What this trial studies

This research aims to empower and support friends and family members of intimate partner violence (IPV) survivors in Thailand through the adaptation of the myPlan app, which was originally developed in the United States. The app serves as an evidence-based intervention designed to provide resources and guidance to those supporting IPV survivors. The study will involve tailoring the app's content specifically for Thai users and will be conducted in two phases to ensure cultural relevance and effectiveness. Participants will engage with the app to enhance their understanding and ability to assist IPV survivors in their network.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Thai-speaking individuals aged 18 and older who have a female friend currently experiencing intimate partner violence.

Not a fit: Patients who do not speak or read Thai, are under 18 years old, or lack access to a safe smartphone or computer will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could significantly improve the support system for IPV survivors by equipping their friends and family with the necessary tools and knowledge.

How similar studies have performed: While the myPlan app has been successfully implemented in various high-income and low-income countries, this specific adaptation for Thailand is a novel approach.
