What this trial studies
This study focuses on adapting the Unidimensional Self-Efficacy Scale for Multiple Sclerosis (USE-MS) into Turkish to assess self-efficacy in individuals diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The scale consists of 12 questions that evaluate patients' perceptions of their competence in performing various tasks. The research aims to establish the validity and reliability of this adapted scale through data collected from multiple centers, including Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Hacettepe University, and Gazi University. Participants must be Turkish-speaking individuals diagnosed with MS and meet specific cognitive criteria.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Turkish-speaking individuals diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis who have a mini-mental status assessment score of 18 or above.
Not a fit: Patients with dementia, significant hearing or vision loss, or those who are illiterate may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this adaptation could enhance the understanding of self-efficacy in Turkish-speaking MS patients, leading to better-targeted interventions.
How similar studies have performed: Similar studies have successfully adapted self-efficacy scales for various populations, indicating a promising approach for this adaptation.
