What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to investigate the effects of Active Breathing Exercises on stroke patients who have Respiratory Rhythm Disorder. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an observation group, which will receive these exercises in addition to routine rehabilitation, or a control group that will only receive standard care. The study will assess and compare the swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) experienced by both groups to determine the effectiveness of the intervention.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with Respiratory Rhythm Disorder and experiencing any degree of dysphagia.

Not a fit: Patients with other neurological diseases, severe cognitive impairment, or those requiring parenteral nutrition may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could improve swallowing function and overall respiratory health in stroke patients.

How similar studies have performed: While there is existing literature on the relationship between respiration and swallowing, this specific approach using Active Breathing Exercises in stroke patients is relatively novel.
